Roses in my spring garden
Thought I'd share some of my roses with you. Some of them are just babies planted a few months ago so I am happy to see them blooming.

Re: Roses in my spring garden
Good golly Miss Silky. I adore your garden. The roses amid lushness - just picture-perfect, beautiful blooms rising on stately stems all over the place, not a frayed or chewed petal anywhere. Those poiples are the best I've seen (I thought you had trouble with Charles de Gaulle - obviously it wasn't you I was thinking of ;-)))
Just magic, all of it.

Gorgeous, Silky! That's the healthiest Blue Moon I've ever seen!
Well done on the underplantings. That's my next challenge.

Re: Roses in my spring garden
Fabulous roses and garden Silky , well done !! but where are you in these pics lol !! Your Barbara looks great , i asked Silky roses to bud me one of those on a standard and Diana from Silkys said she wouldn't recommend it as it is a unhealthy rose , so you are definately doing something right , she recommended Charles instead , growing roses is such a lottery ....

Re: Roses in my spring garden
Thank you for your comments everyone. Yes the garden is looking lush at the moment and I'm very happy. It's great when things actually pan out the way you've imagined. Soon all the lilies will be out to add another dimension. I like to have lots of things growing together to hide leggy roses but that can impede air flow and make for other problems. Sigh. But at the moment I'm just enjoying it all. Wish the sun would show itself though.
Yes Roseman I do seem to have a lot of purple, but other colours too. I'll post more later. Betsy you were right - it was me with Charles de Gaulle. Started very slowly last year but is looking good now. I stiill prefer Barbra though, she has this deep pink tinge that adds depth to her flowers, which last for ages. No problems with health whatsoever! A strong grower here and wonderful perfume. Blue Moon looks good now but it frizzles quickly when summer comes along.
Jessika I saw in display garden at Magic Gardens. Wow, she has exceeded my expectations. Plant is only about a foot tall yet has produced these HUGE flowers (as big as my palm), that withstand weather and last really well on the bush. The mature plant I saw was strongly perfumed. At this stage only a bit of fragrance but I expect more as she grows. I'm thrilled with her. I'll keep you updated on her progress.

Re: Roses in my spring garden
Thanks Sue. Yes, please post some pictures. Love looking at them and seeing what others have and finding new ones. I think we all get some inspiration from each other.
Posting pics isn't hard but if your connection is slow, like mine, it just takes some time and can be a pain in the proverbial.

OK not roses. A bit of my new native bed, with hopefully, more matching tones. Time will tell if it works.

Re: Roses in my spring garden
Yes, it's definitely my kind of selection you've got there, Silky. After you're done planting the green and white area, just ship the WHOLE garden up to me.
And again, what fabulous lushness throughout. Most attractive density of planting, twists and turns too, none of the 3ft-circles-and mulch appearance.

Thank you Silky, Jordan and Maree. Had to lie down in a darkened room afterwards!! LOL Yes, I love my Papa! Considering it's a standard, it does extremely well.
Silky, I love your Daybreaker and you are right - it look lovely in that pot. Nice pot too! LOL
