Vale: Meryl Constance
Hello fellow roseaholics,
It's been a long time since I've posted here and wasn't sure that the forum still existed. I am not sure who the current moderator is, but last I knew it was Simon Voorwinde from Tasmania, it's good to see so many new participants,
For those among the existing membership who remember Meryl Constance (she posted here under her name of 'Meryl'), you may like to know that sadly, Meryl succumbed to leukemia last week. Her family have organised a memorial service which will be held in Sydney next Monday. They are happy for me to let Meryl's gardening friends know.
So, in case anyone would like to go, here are the details:
"Hi Everyone,
Just confirming the time of Meryl's memorial service next Monday the 26th at 11am. The celebrant has requested for everyone to arrive between 10:30am and 10:45am if possible.
Address is Glebe Town Hall, St Johns Rd Glebe. The memorial will be held in the main hall on level 1.
There is a mix of 1 and 2 hour street parking nearby, if you're driving. The celebrant said to place a sign in the window stating you're attending a memorial service, which will hopefully keep the rangers at bay. There is also 2hr free parking at Broadway Shopping Centre, however that is about a 15 minute walk from the town hall.
Kind regards,
Sue and family"
If you would like further information, please let me know and I'll post it on here. I don't live in Sydney any more and won't be able to travel up on that day.
Take care,
Rita

Re: Vale: Meryl Constance
Thank you Rita for letting us know, that was a sad thing to come back here to learn. Meryl was a very kind person to help me with accommodation at her home in Sydney when my partner had Lung Cancer and we had to travel to Sydney for an appointment. Meryl was also a very good rosarian friend and showed me her beautiful rose garden.
I hope you are well Rita and you are still growing roses ?
