Re: FEW MORE ROSES IN SPRING
Thank you Neptune for sharing your experience. I just heaved a sigh of relief when I read that because I try to space my roses at about a metre apart and have felt guilty when I've put them a bit closer, convinced they wouldn't ever thrive as well as if I'd done it "properly".
Sue I'll take some photos of that bed soon. It's all been planted recently so I haven't had a chance to see how it will all look. I do my best to get colours to harmonise but it's cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Re: FEW MORE ROSES IN SPRING
Haha, geez you've got a good memory Betsy! I'll have to wait a bit for that, I want it closer to the house and it will have to wait til I get my outdoor entertaining area sorted before I can plan the space. I haven't forgotten though, it's embedded in my brain. Maybe when you have a little getaway in Paddington, this can be part of the courtyard. Waddya reckon?

Re: FEW MORE ROSES IN SPRING
Alot of people have different views on spaceing roses I have a few close to each other and have never had a problem and they are some of my best roses in my garden. My local nursery advises me 50 to 60cm is enough apart and even closer. He told me that all you have to do is maintain them so they dont clash and snip off what get's in the way.

Re: FEW MORE ROSES IN SPRING
Mine are about a metre apart, the only trouble so far is PJP11 is really spreading out. I just snip it.

Re: FEW MORE ROSES IN SPRING
Yes thanks John. Nobody would/could give me an answer! Now I know and like you Dianne, I would have very few roses in my garden too if that spacing was right!

Your Oklahoma is indeed magnificent Danny. Can you tell me what the roses are on the far side opposite Oklahoma, the deep pink ones?

A wonderland.... I just am mad about those bedecked arches, Gary. Also the black metal framework - what are those structures? The hardscape geometry is so smart-looking.

Re: FEW MORE ROSES IN SPRING
Thanks all.
It just keeps getting better every year. A few changes are planned for next winter to get rid of some of the steeper graded parts of the garden.
More bed space = more rose space.
