Beautiful new miniature rose
Don't know much about this rose except to say that it is a Poulsen rose in the Parade Rose series. Has no scent but has the most beautifully formed flowers and lovely healthy looking foliage.

Ok, looks good, Simon, has it got a name, where did it come from. I know what to do, go to the parade range at Poulsen's. Sometimes I amase myself when I think after typing.

Re: Beautiful new miniature rose
I've done that David and I can't find a suitable match from their photographs. It has a very distinctive feature on the buds. It has long flag-like and fringed sepals so I was thinking it shouldn't be too hard to find.. but still no close matches. It came from a 'general nursery' down here that purchases bulk loads of these Parade Roses that arrive with 4 struck cuttings per pot, in flower, probably juiced up to the eyeballs with fungicides and ferts to force them along and all they have in the pot is a small label that says 'Parade Roses'.
Re: Beautiful new miniature rose
Simon, Beautiful rose. About a month back, we have been getting potted roses from Europe for the first time. I couldn't resist but buy two miniature roses myself, last Saturday. A pink and a red. The label reads it is for 17-23 deg. Celcius enviroments. These come from Nolina Nurseries, Netherland. Mine is 'Palace' series from Nolina.
I think your rose should be listed in the below page.

I was amazed to find out that they have robots in the nursery to do almost all the work, including grafting, if I am not wrong.
Each cost me 48 Aus. dollars!!!
I just wanted to see what happens to these roses in our climate. I have put my roses at a friends place where she has full shade. I want to keep in shade for 2 weeks and gradually bring it to sun light.

Yes 48 AUD. I know they are ripping us off. Mine is also 4 (probably grafted) plants in a pot.
Check this out [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ( I think this is the one you've got. I might be wrong)

Re: Beautiful new miniature rose
that was my next step - took some higher quality detail shots today for this purpose
Case closed!
Ok... I got a reply from Poulsen's roses and from Summerhill Nursery here in Australia (they are the licensed propagators for 'Parade Roses' here). The decision was unanimous! The verdict is this little rose's name is 'Alicante', which as far as I can tell is a place in Spain. Would you believe this little rose, which is planted in a largish container, still has all its leaves despite being frozen nearly every night!!! Such a great little rose

Does that face mean you have a new love other than Alicia, or is the love for breeding.
