Dur, disregard this post, I should have read the previous posts, what a dummy.

Re: Spring Roses
Well done Gary, some beautiful roses there. Is the bed with the wood edge new or revamped ?
The closest I have to Spring roses is our old Banksia, Constance Spry is late, got buds, no flowers. What is called Cecile Brunner or Bloomfield Abundance has a couple of flowers.

Re: Spring Roses
David
That garden was planted a bit under 2 years ago. The edge was put in as part of the renovations in that area. We cut out about 200mm in front of the garden to level it out a little and to assist in drainage in the area.
Our Claire Jacquier should have been cut back as it is now completely blocking one of our paths through the garden but I simply ran out of time so it stayed weeping down over the path. It is starting to look like a creamy yellow waterfall. I am just waiting for some more flowers to ope and I will post a photo.
Did you like the Mrs Graham Hart?

Gary, your garden is just lovely - I wish! How big is it? You have some beautiful roses on those stands. I really must see if my son will make me one!

Re: Spring Roses
Gary your garden looks like a paradise, roses billowing everywhere. Just beautiful and a credit to you for creating it. It must be a feast for the senses, the perfumes wafting and the hum of happy bees. A great place to unwind and relax.

Gary I looked at Mrs G Hart and thought what a lovely yellow rose, then thought everyone is over my "obsession" with yellow

Re: Spring Roses
Tea and scones sounds a bit prim and proper to me I'd settle for a schooner of Toohey's new and a packet of Smith's chips.

Re: Spring Roses
Gorgeous pics, Balinbear - (I'm a little green with envy). My bare paddock of roses is still rather sparse and not photo worthy - but pumping in the water so they all come out of dormancy - hopefully we won't pump the dam dry before we get more rain!!
Oh, ... and the tea and scones sound great

Thanks. It is looking extra pretty this year. We had some good early spring rain and it shows. Plus the roses are getting a bit older and are flowering better.
The garden is about 2 acres but that includes the house, garage and driveway. As for the stands they are quite easy to make.

That's fine Doug! This is a very informal afternoon! We'll probably end up with a BBQ as well! Some bright spark will suggest it!

Yes John the floral art was impressive. I have a question though, when blooms are being judged, do the judges take foliage into their marking??
Re: Spring Roses

as for the floral art you would have seen our name come up a few times.....did you like the rainbow art?
