Re: Lots of Roses
Maree, can you keep me updated on your mum's SM as to perfume? I can actually visualise SM in my front row spot in my yellow bed, so that will be next season's project I think. Elina is at the back of those yellows and I have yellow lilies in there too so a creamy yellow would like nice, especially when the jacaranda overhead is in bloom.
Dan, Lady of Shalott is absolutely stunning. Also like Windermere a lot. What are their growth habits - octopus arms or nice mounded well behaved girlies?
You'll have to stop tempting me like this!! Lol

Re: Lots of Roses
Dan I've got a couple in pots now, Daybreaker and Eyes for You but roses in pots are less forgiving of periodic neglect than roses in the ground. I'm not always conscientious! Lol. Besides I have skinny paths here that don't lend themselves well to nice big pots. One day when I have a deck or paved area I'd like more pots. Roses would need to be compact rounded perfumed...you know. Lol

Re: Lots of Roses
Thanks Maree, that would be good. My Elina is just showing colour in its many buds too. No perfume unfortunately but what a strong healthy rose it is, lots of blooms. I really like it.

Re: Lots of Roses
LOL! Well, Maree, how many gardens do you do? You plant in your son's and your mum's, Dan, I think also plants in his mum's. I think, those of us with limited space and are roseaholics, just seem to take over other people's gardens or perhaps spaces in them! I know I do too!! My daughter in law is wonderful!

Re: Lots of Roses
Sue , yep i use my mums garden as a test garden lol , cause i've got no room in mine and she doesn't mind , she loves roses too , i get my passion for gardening of her . My son just announced last year he wanted to plant some roses , and he just wanted a Iceberg , after trying to talk him out of it , we settled on a Elina and a Iceberg from Bunnings , funniest thing , a Iceberg i've never owned one ... Dan arn't we lucky we've got mums gardens to put our roses in ....
