Re: more roses
All wonderful, as per usual, Dan; so many of them I don’t know which one I should focus on. Ebb Tide continues to stand out, but also the many beautiful OGRs and Austins. Which rose in this series stands out for you most, and why?

Re: more roses
The Old Port photos I see on HMF have a similar colour to what Big Purple looks like in the QLD sun; yes it’s a Big Pink here. OP is said to be not a strong grower in Zone 9-10 and not a tall bush to begin with, but wow, what huge blooms and nice colour. It probably would be swallowed up by my wild cottage garden, where I have to keep an eye even on some of my taller shrubs.
Comte de Chambord is recommended for cooler climates, but excellent ratings and comments all around; I might have to look at that one again; nice one …
I really like what I’ve been reading about Barbara Streisand in ‘A Rose by Any Name’; how do you find her fragrance?

Re: more roses
Apparently, usually when a celebrity lends her or his name to a rose, they show up at the grower to select one they like, which is followed by a photo session and the signing of some contracts, all pretty much in the same afternoon. Not so with BS: when she showed up, she selected not one, but three roses and then insisted on trialing them in her own extensive rose garden for a total of two years; that just figures. The other two she had initially included were Moonstone and Rosie O’Donnell, but BS clearly was her winner.

Re: more roses
Again, more beautiful roses Jordan. The purples stand out for me especially. Are these first blooms of new roses Jordan? If so, I hope my first blooms are just as good. Of course I only have a few compared to your excellent vast collection. I am looking forward to seeing my first blooms from Ebb Tide (10 buds from such a small bush), Barbra S and Charles de G.
