Re: Lots of Roses
Anyone have Queen Adelaide? Mine is just a baby but boy oh boy the fragrance from its blooms rivals many of my power bloomers.

Lol Neptune.
I love this thread, it's like an interactive rose catalogue.

Re: Lots of Roses
I would be interested to know if anyone decides to try Avner's Hope rose, think it's only available through Masters. Really nice fragrance and lilac in colour.

Re: Lots of Roses
Just love your roses Dan. I noticed though that some of yours are much lighter than the ones in my garden. My Darcy Bussell for example is a bright garnet crimson colour. And Munstead Wood is also much darker. Would it be your camera or perhaps because they are in pots? Strange. How do you find Warm Wishes, which I have seen more apricot/gold hued? I'm seriously thinking of including it with Valencia so would appreciate your thoughts on its virtues.
I remember someone was taken by Forget-Me-Not (perhaps it was Maree) a while ago. I can see why. How have you found this one?

Re: Lots of Roses
Silky, you will have noticed in my first posting of Darcy bussell and munstead they were lot darker , this time around took the photos little late then usual , and also the weather also depends on the blooms , forget me not still new for me to judge it has been a bit slow to produce blooms, so far there is two and the fragrance so far not as strong as they suggest , will see how it go to the end of the season.silkyfizz wrote:Just love your roses Dan. Re: Lots of Roses
Thanks Jordan. Yes it's funny how weather variations can affect colour in some roses. I'll be interested in how you rate Forget Me Not at the end of the season.

John the rose is a test of observation powers. Let's see if anyone else as realised which rose is the topic of conversation.

The pic at the top of this page? I'd say it was dan's pic of Warm Wishes (previous page) but photoshopped to remove tiny blemishes. Is that what you mean, Doug?

Re: Lots of Roses
shocking blue is a nice rose Danny , not a prolific bloomer and it has a nice scent , as for ekstase , the blooms are lovely and dark , initially at the start of the season gets minor black spot but nothing to worry about as it cleans up rather quickly and the scent is nice too

Re: Lots of Roses
david
Martine guillot , has an upright gowth sends out few branches from the bottom too, its growth more like a flori.
parfum de paris cant tell u much about as its a new one for me ,
as for portmerion is a thorny rose , it spreads more then it shoots up its not a huge rose roughly about 90cm
