I love to give that a try as well. I don't think I put my return address on the parcel I sent you (should be there today or tomorrow) so I'll PM you the details. You might be interested in this as well come to thnk of it. I'm after californica because it features in a few purples and others think it may 'play well' with modern purples. I'm keen to try it with a few things like 'Route 66' and 'Ann Endt'.

If you like purples here is one, in HMF the colour is'nt captured very well, I used it last year and this year in my breeding. It has good structure to created OGR flower types. Robert Rippetoe in the USA has used it a bit.

Warren, I have just had a look on HMF at Old Port, nice looking rose, some good crosses should come from it I would think

Re: Looking for Rosa califcornica
Its a good rose Roseman, its repeat is very good, but as I said to Simon the pics on HMF dont do it justice. I used it last year and this year, crossed over my own roses and crossed it over a few David Austin's. Its structure should compliment austin's , but i want the colour transfer more than anything.

I have 'Old Port' too... waiting for it to establish atm. Bit black spot prone here for my liking. Can't do anything here due to the rain rightnow thought.
