John I like for my roses to be regular, never thought about the grass but I do have nightmares about the nutgrass. On the topic of nutgrass I have just read you can sprinkle sugar on nutgrass to kill it.

I heard that too, Doug....normally done at the beginning of the growing season and don't over water the lawn as it will just wash the sugar away....

sorry I didn't see this earlier......to answer your question...... answer would be no and I have not pursue it ...but having said that, it just might be an exercise to follow thru on......
If you contact your Dept of Ag, they should be able tell you the conditions of transfer from NSW to you. I am thinking that a stem of Flemington Racecourse(Chapman) could be sent without any quarantine restrictions.
After thinking about this I have looked at the WA AG site and it is not really user friendly so I popped off an email to them.
It would be great if we could get budwood sent to WA, but first of all, I've got to get a cutting to flippin strike until then?????? who knows. If someone could give me the magic touch, it would be appreciated,
Re: List of ALL Australian bred roses on HMF
A fellow exhibitor took some roses to WA in 2011 for the NRSA Championships and didn't have a great deal of a problem to get them in but in his words it may have been more good luck than good management.

Re: List of ALL Australian bred roses on HMF
David as long as a rose is Australian bred it is eligible however although GMB comes to notice being named after such a highly respected person it hasn't been around long enough to prove itself as an above average rose so it wouldn't be a rose of the month at this stage.
