Teesh in all honesty, no idea without a photo. But I would use "heavy" chemical to at least get rid of them. are there any nests

I can't see any visible nests, but they have made homes in 2 of the wooden poles. I have sprayed a whole can of mortein in there haha. Most of them died but some still hanging around. I might get hubby to go to bunnings and get something stronger. My parents seem to think only termites would get into the house. Fingers crossed.

People may be right here ,but it could be Earwig bugs to also called Forficula auricularia. They damage the foliage, flowers, and various crops I have seen them in my rose flowers and they eat the petals and leave holes..

Earwigs i hate earwigs , i have them , i started to attack them , then got lazy and as Danny says they eat holes in the leaves and petals ....

Rosy , i think Brisbane and your weather must bring out all the bugs , lucky you lol !!! Hope the karma bug doesn't get me for saying that !!!
