Re: Shocking blue and Angel face roses
For me, angel face is on the smallish size as a bush, does take a couple of seasons to find eats feet. Nice folliage, blooms well with good colour and scent. shocking blue tends to be a bit stringy and doesn't give up enough blooms for me, blooms are nice in colour but for me lacks the scent that others say it has. To qualify things, mine are grown in rather large pots and not in a garden, whether this makes a difference is open to discussion.

Re: Shocking blue and Angel face roses
I only have Angel Face and she's still blooming even now... Smallish bush but compact. Keep her deadheaded and the blooms keep coming.
Doesn't get any more blackspot in my garden than a whole bunch of others that are rated worse *or* better. lol

Re: Shocking blue and Angel face roses
Angel Face has always been one of my favourite roses however I have found it difficult to grow.
The photo is brilliant. A great entry for a photo competition.
Next year the Australian Rose Annual is running it's inaugural photo competition.

Wendy, what size are we talking about in the photo ?. In all accounts that I know of it is a small/ish, 90 x 90(3ft x 3ft) floribunda that is what HMF says, the ones I have seen are in the 2ft area(60)

Re: Shocking blue and Angel face roses
Didn't think it was a super photo but if it makes everyone happy then I am happy.
This bush is (I think) about 4-5yrs old? And around 70cm x 70cm. I'd expect it to get a little bigger as it matures.

Re: Shocking blue and Angel face roses
danny , I have both growing . angel face performed better for me this year in the past few , it takes a bit to establish a hard one to grow indeed . she is a hungry little critter . as for shocking blue mine is about 4 years old , she does throw few blooms but a bit tight on flower production , the scent is strong but I guess some people cant smell it

Re: Shocking blue and Angel face roses
After so many disappointments with Angel Face and wanting to have a purple floribunda for the show bench I am trialing Blueberry Hill at the moment and so far it appears to be a much stronger rose.
