Ouucch! That is really very hard way to get hold of the Ausrtralian roses. I assume and hope that this is the case only for Warren Millington's roses. What surprised me most when looking at Daniel Schmitz Nursery a that there is no mention of the word or the country "Australia". If you did not tell me that Warren Millington was Australian it would have taken me very long time to figure out that he was Australian and his roses are Australian roses.

I hate to think about the delivery charges. The roses at Daniel Schmitz are quite pricy compared to the rest of Europe.

Someone needs to tell the Daniel Schmitz Nursery and Warren Millington and or his beneficiaries to make it clear that Warren Millington rose are Australian roses.
It might be that they say this in Belgian language. But not in English language.

I find it ironic that Daniel Schmitz Nursery has got the "English Roses" and the "Warren Roses". The "English Roses" are not all of the English Roses: They are bred by an Englishman called David Austin. Somehow the world seems to refer to David Austin roses as English Roses. Harkness roses are bred by an Englishman too but are called Harkness roses.

Now I know that the Warren Millington roses are Australina Roses.

Hehe Alya, yes, ducks can be messy and a bit of work in a back garden. I guess it depends on how much space you have, and how much time you have!

muscovyduckling If I had the space I would do my best to make the time for the ducks..but unfortunately I don't. I love duck eggs!

As it stand I have been giving away my other plants to make way for more roses.  

Last weekend I dug out Phormium, Berberis, Pyrachanta and dwarft bamboo to make space for 3  Rose Nozomi to train as standard weeping on its own trunks by approach grafting.  I am trying to grow the Wedding Day rambler this way to get it self supporting.

I love Wedding Day. I hope you succeed - it would be stunning as a weeper!

David, I have decided to bite the bullet in No Mans Land and plant...... Mermaid! Ha hahahahahah! I feel like a bit of a psychopath when I contemplate it What kind of lunatic plants Mermaid anywhere near their property? Hahahaha. The DH will have to teach me how to use the chainsaw come pruning time.

EtA: Wedding Day is most certainly available here. Newstead Roses in Monbulk have a fantastic specimen eating the front of the cottage there. It's available from Treloars, if you're brave enough

Mermaid will do well up in NML, I would plant it higher up the hill near the playing fields so it can grow it's way down the hill. In England and Europe it would be classed as a living fence.

At my place, it will be a living fence/lost cricket ball repository hahah. I doubt the cricketers will brave the power of Mermaid.
