Gorgeous, especially after all the heat and smoke you must be getting.

Re: Pink Iceberg
TheE... do you deadhead your Iceberg religiously? If not do you get hips forming on yours? Bruce (Ozeboy) said he got hips on his last year and has seedlings from it and I've heard others talking about the hips they get on Iceberg... but I can't for the life of me get mine to form even open pollinated hips... then I found an interesting explanation (I'll try and find it later) suggesting that there was infact two different roses going under the name of 'Iceberg'... one which forms OP hips and one that doesn't.... This was not here in Australia though but I find it curious that none of mine (white, blushing, burgundy, or climbing) seem to want to form hips at all and Bruce's seems to do so easily... could be a climatic thing too. All my crosses with Iceberg (i.e.Burgundy Iceberg / Iceberg) have failed... well I'm still watching one hip but I think it too is a dud. I'll go and find the information I am thinking about to make sure I have it right and link it here.

Here's where it was discussed.. the general concensus is that they are the same plant... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]... must be a climate or cultural thing.
Re: Pink Iceberg
I dead head as soon as the flowers are finished I could let a few go and see if I get hips for you ??

Re: Pink Iceberg
No thanks David... I'm not that interested in Iceberg or the iceberg family... just curious about how it breeds from the sporting point of view. It's just weird that I can't get it to set anything at all when others seem to have it set in small-to-medium numbers. I've not had luck using it as a pollen parent either *shrugs* just one of those things I think.
