Re: Lots of Roses
A 'nut' is technically an amazing example of ingenuity in the plant world - designed to withstand the elements - so thanks for the compliment Roseman ... i guess I'd rather be a nut than a burrroseman wrote:Again to all the members, sorry for high jacking temporarily, hariet your a nut, but a good one

Re: Lots of Roses
Lovely Dan. Nahema is a new one for me and will go on the ever growing list! I am also growing Radox Bouquet and it's going great guns!! It's in it's first year too. Lovely to see Fragrant cloud again. One of my favourites.

Re: Lots of Roses
Oh, I've added a few more roses to my 'must have' list after reading all this! The picture of Mme Hardy is divine! I purchased a plant 2 or 3 years ago and it has yet to flower (made the mistake of moving it shortly after first planting and then pruning before flowering - oops!!). I'm desperately waiting to see if it will flower but no buds in sight.
Did someone mention starting a topic on 'moss roses' way back? I have a small moss circle of 2 varieties (Alfred de Dalmas, Soupert et Notting) but hope to do more so any info would be appreciated!!

Re: Lots of Roses
okay david you would be looking at a different phoenix
the phoenix that I have was released by knights roses , it is the second in the series of roses that where dedicated to fire-fighters
hopefully that helped answering your question

Re: Lots of Roses
Hi Dan, Good to see you are still producing the most spectacular of Roses, you really are a Master of the Art.
Does The Squire stay Purple and have you seen it as a Standard. How does it perform in the heat?
Happy Gardening...

Re: Lots of Roses
hi Dianne , nice to see you back , hope u are feeling better
as far as I know the squire not available as a standard, as for colour it is one of David Austin darkest rose IMO , just an opinion if u have a shady part I would plant it there, as the blooms can burn , but other than that health wise I cant say I've had any issues.
hope this helps
