Re: Favorite Orange / Apricot?
Oh Happy!! What question!! Can I start with two?! Just Joey and Crepuscule! The scent from Just Joey is just wonderful and Crepuscule - I think I sound like a "doofus" when I try to describe the colours of this amazing rose! It's scent in the evening and early morning is wonderful! I was surprised to learn, when I delved into it's history, it had been around since early 1900's. It has only come into it's own recently. What a shame, people don't know what they've been missing!!

Re: Favorite Orange / Apricot?
Just Joey has to be one of the loveliest creatures ever to appear on a stem. Guaranteed to bring a smile to the lips of the most po-faced passerby. And then it delivers its perfume punch - more of a silky caress, actually. God, I adore this one.
Which is why I wish the hybridisers would give it a reboot. I suspect that its decreasing vigor over time may have something to do with the huge and indiscriminate cloning of this variety to meet market demand back in its heyday. in any case, it needs revitalisation: Just Joey - Just Amazing.

Re: Favorite Orange / Apricot?
So pleased you started this Colour Topic Happy Roses - I just love these colours.
Jordan your Roses are beautiful, Do Love your David Austin's.
I have planted several (Dare I Say 'David Austin's along my fence). The ones I chose have grown beautifully being trained as climbers and bloom all year round. On the fence I have planted - Abraham Darby, William Morris, I do have others there but, too much pink in them to call them Orange/Apricot.
I also have - David Austin's Tea Clipper and Jude the Obscure as a bushes.
And - Albertine, a very prickly Wichurana Rambler which is absolutely beautiful at the moment, it is more Apricot than Pink (as the photo looks here)..
ABRAHAM DARBY

Re: Favorite Orange / Apricot?
No problem Dimity, I do love apricot ,though I don't have any at the moment, your David Austins are lovely, they are such pretty roses, they kind of remind me of ruffled tissue paper in a good way, hard to explain.

Re: Favorite Orange / Apricot?
Could I ask if any of you have Cornelia and does she loose all her leaves for you in Winter. Mine completely defoliates.
But now it is beautiful, full of buds again. Your Roses may be slower to flower but you will have them hold a lot longer than us when they do come on.
You Lucky People.

Re: Favorite Orange / Apricot?
Thanks Jordan, Pleased to see it wasn't something I had done to it. Isn't she beautiful, at the moment she is blooming away, enjoying living with a wayward Currant Tomato in a symbiotic relationship.
