Re: Few Roses In Autumn
Your roses look lovely Jordan, especially the Baronne. Hopefully I'll have blooms like that next year. This is one I've wanted for a while.

Re: Few Roses In Autumn
I'm sure I will Dan, can't wait to plant it and watch it grow. It will be with Parole and their bed has just been dug. I'm looking to the perfume, hope the combo works.

Re: Few Roses In Autumn
I've only heard good reports so am looking forward to see for myself. Will also be planting Best friend, Old Port and Eyes for You in that bed, next to Dioressence (not many leaves at the moment but lots of buds, so many flowers this year!) and Chartreusse deP (next year will be its last I think). Best Friend is my roughy.

Re: Few Roses In Autumn
Same old story Dan, ends up as ugly sticks towards end of season. Even though the flowers are very beautiful and richly fragrant, not that many over the year. I've nurtured it this year but I'm losing patience.
When I saw Best Friend at Magic Gardens I was really impressed, it looked so healthy, lots of blooms, great colour and delicious fragrance. I'm glad you have confirmed it's a good rose, because I haven't heard a lot about it, and I'm usually a bit wary of roses associated with causes. I hope it will be a winner.

the reason I initially bought best friend , it was for my dog , had to put her down few years ago , so that rose was dedicated to her .
be patience it will hopefully do better for you this year .

Re: Few Roses In Autumn
Yes, Dan, that's another reason for wanting it. My beloved Sam has only a short time left and I want something that will remind me of my faithful friend, but one that will give me joy, like he has.

No burden at all Betsy. What an adorable little girl, lovely expression. I'm so sorry you have lost her. Yes the grief is heartwrenching when it comes, but they give so much love and joy, who would be without a doggie to enrich our life.

Tell us about Sam, if you please, silky.
Better still, maybe roseman will allow a Rainbow Bridge thread somewhere out in the back blocks of this site, and I can flick my post out of the thread I seem to have hijacked.
