Part of the problem when it comes to "providing feedback" (*coughcough*) is that sometimes RMV doesn't show up for a while. Which means it could be several years down the track and I may have forgotten which nursery I purchased it from...
Certainly, with one that shows up in the first year as having RMV I should have contacted the nursery.
Like Ozeboy pointed out though - it isn't just one nursery with this problem. The majority will have some. And I could claim that I purchased roses from Nursery X and Y and the plants were not infected but then someone else - who bought different plants - might claim they had a problem.
If I get time I'll compile a list (cross-checked with receipts) and then email the nurseries...
But now we've gone completely OT...

AutumnD, I keep meticulous files of not only my roses, but all plants in my garden, including receipts, plant labels and Word and Excel files, but I’m probably a bit OCD. If the signs and symptoms can appear only years after purchase, the growers must understand that they may have to deal with the issue years down the track, if they don’t take adequate care in the first place; and we should still contact them, no matter how long it took the virus to show. Surely, taking care of this issue must be in their own best interest, as they have so much more to lose than any individual customer.

Oroz has nothing to do with Glenorie Roses. I am the sole owner and operator so if something goes wrong then I'm to blame.

MV is very difficult to identify, some show the spots or water mark while others don't. When stressed such as no watering during drought a lot of those considered uninfected will start to show the problem.
As mentioned, until a positive means of identification is available then no one could claim to be 100% disease free. If the nursery has in place best practices to reduce the problem then just let them know when you have a plant from them infected.

Okay Ozeboy , it can be confusing sometimes on this page , who is who ..

To all those who have virused roses. It has not been proven one way or the other that infection can be passed on through root grafting.
That means an infected rose growing near a non infected one could pass the infection on via the roots.

I always throw out the RMV rose if in a bed. Those growing in pots are placed aside in a quarrentine area if needed for breeding then burnt.

My nursery is still losing money but hang the expense I'm still trying to have 100% clean unvirused stocks or take up something else to fill my retirement days.

Lets leave the Austin thread alone and start one on "RMV" if any or all are interested.
