Re: old -fashioned and david austin roses
Hey Guys! use "Help me Find" to find any roses you are searching for.
There's so much more information there so you can buy with confidence. Use the section "Buy From" which is on the top r/h of each page. Up will come all the nurseries selling that rose so you can pick one close by. I don't buy roses based on a name and bloom picture on a growers website. There's things like disease resistance, pix in some cases of the bush, references, gardeners comments and breeding history.
This site is run by people who donate their time and expertise.
They need funds to continue the service so everyone should become a member. You can brouse free but for more indepth information the $25 membership is very worthwhile.
Next time you are looking for a particular rose then use "Help me Find",
saves a lot of time rather than going through nursery websites.
Last winter I bought a rose bareroot from Queensland for $16.95 plus $20 postage and packaging, That's a total of $36.95 for one rose.
I later found out on HMF I could have bought that rose local in an 8" pot for $18. If you are not useing HMF then you are wasting time and money. But do join for they need to survive.

Re: old -fashioned and david austin roses
I have ab out sixty rose books, some from Canada, UK, NZ the the USA.
I have purchased many through ebay, others through markets and second hand book stores. I would sooner not waste my brain on immoral mags which detail the latest marriage breakup, diet, suicide etc. Roses and knowledge of them and the sheer joy they bring me far outweighs following the sad side of life.
