Hey David... this thread is just to show people that DA has an outlet here in Australia, and what varieties are available here in Australia. Dave's O/S/ trip has a thread of its own in the Rose Garden's forum. The link to the UK site is also good... could you edit it a little by putting a space between the ',' and the 'http' so the link becomes active and people can click on it Thumbsup

The Australian site doesn't have a lot of the DAs... old and new... I really like the look of the photo of 'James Galway' in Dave's holiday slideshow.

Fantastic rose "James Galway" I understand we can not get it here anymore as it was deleted, would make a great rose for a bank or cascading down a wall.

Talking of banks, recent earthworks at our place have created a sizeable one to be covered.

Any suggestions for roses or other fast growing things to grow with roses? The bank is a mix if small rocks and impoverished clayey subsoil, that appears to be reasonably well drained.

Can I just dig "pockets" in the bank to fill with good soil and compost, or do we need to cover the entire surface with good topsoil?

Will the purple rambler/climber you mentioned, be good there, Simon?
(sorry i'm getting off the subject a bit, coz i know that isn't a DA.)
