'Papa Melliand' at Night
I was messing about in the garden at night practicing with a flash and thought this one quite nice.

Re: 'Papa Melliand' at Night
That is a stunning pic . I'm envious because I can't get reds to photogaraph true with the camera I'm using .
Full marks !
It looks very Dr Who-ish , not even sure why Dr Who but this magnificent rich velvety rose floating in dark ether .....
Dr Who was the first thing that sprung to mind . [and I don't even watch the show - it's my dearly beloved that's the addict ]

Hi, I'm the newbie on the block, but I grow and have grown many Papa Melliand bushes and standards. They have all been beautiful and very well behaved! In the UK, I had a little trouble one year, with mildew, but apart from that, nothing but beauty and fragrance!

Re: 'Papa Melliand' at Night
Papa Meilland has the same breeding as Mr Lincoln and Oklahoma which is Chrysler Imperial and Charles Mallerin.
Not a very good exhibition rose as the petals are too loose and very rarely come to a point.
The most successful red exhibition rose in NSW is Kardinal.

Roseman. Sorry, hadn't seen your message before now. You asked where in the UK. Hampshire and Surrey. Are you from there, (UK), too? SueH.
