Re: Roses on the way !!!
I can't wait until my roses arrive. All the beds are dug over and teeming with worms, hope the roses appreciate all the work.
I've ordered Baronne E de Rothschild, Best Friend, Parole, Queen Adelaide, Francis Dubrueil, Abraham Darby and the roughies for the season (based on what I saw at Magic Gardens display garden, very impressed):- Joy of Life (3), Jessika (2).
These are in addition to the ones I bought earlier in the year - Mr Lincoln, Fragrant Cloud, Red Intuition, Jubilee Celebration, Eyes for You, Darcy Bussell, Grimaldi, Old Port, Pierre de Ronsard and my beauty Daybreaker that is flowering its head off.
It's been a real rose year for me! Can't wait til they are all blooming!

Silky
I don't have any idea where ours are going let along have the bed ready. Probably knock down a fence and extend once again.
No worries about worms though they are everywhere up here so the ground can't be too bad.

Re: Roses on the way !!!
Jordan, that's not fair! Here we all are baring our rosy souls and you want to play Mr Mysterious! Besides I thought you weren't getting many this year, you must already have a nursery-full (is that a word?). Come on, give us a clue to work on....Lol
Maree, I love your choices. I only wish I had more room. Initially I had Olde Fragrance and Firefighter on my list too. Maybe in the future... Yes there will be photos, you'll get sick of them Lol. I want to know how yours go too.
Balinbear, I made a promise to myself - no more roses until I've got the beds ready. It's taken ages to get the design right in my head and lots of digging and dragging sleepers around until I was satisfied. I have virtually redesigned a lot of the garden, hard work but worth it. I even broke the handle on my favourite spade! I am constantly dreaming up new ideas. While waiting for rose season, I've created a perennial bed and am now ready to plant a little corner of natives - low growing correas, birthday candles banksias and maybe some tufted grass as an exclamation point. Mind you I don't have the huge (and utterly beautiful) area that you have, so all plantings have to work together.

Re: Roses on the way !!!
Haha Roseman, no lawn here, just grass (well, weeds) that only looks ok when it's mown. I couldn't not have an open green area, it unifies the garden and just makes me feel better. It's getting smaller though as I make inroads with more and wider beds. Other two not an option, though I wouldn't mind having a few acres and running a couple of horses. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford a romantic rural retreat, all picturesque and me in a filmy floating gown sitting down to tea in the dappled shade of an arbour dripping with flowers. Ah yes, only thing missing will be the walking frame Lol.

I'm trying to get Peace clb., Blackboy, Fragrant Cloud, Fragrant Plum, Granada, Sexy Rexy, Kardinal, Prosperity ,Buff Beauty, Bonica, Rumba and Ingrid Bergman; from Perth to Maldives. I'm in touch with Swiss Rose Garden Nursery, Perth. I have a friend coming to Maldives so he will carry it for me. I hope to get them by 1st week of July.

I only speak the truth, no fork tongue from me, a spade is a spade and if you do not like it bad luck. I do not mince words. I love the truth.

Re: Roses on the way !!!
Roseman, your truth might be rather brutal...fork, spade, mince...Yeeowtch!! But you have the heart of a gentleman.
Jordan, which newies? It will be between just us two.

Re: Roses on the way !!!
Maree, a tree change is more stable than a sea change, tidal influence would be hard to plan the garden.
