Roseman, I was afraid that was the case but can't think of any others it could be. It looks like a nice rose too, pity it's not available.

Re: Roses on the way !!!
I am waiting for the Misty Down's sale in August as I hoping I might have a bit of spare money to buy some roses by then. I want to replace some of the beautiful roses I had that died when I moved down here, if they are still available.
Happy planting everyone ! I hope you get your roses alright, Alee.

Re: Roses on the way !!!
Jordan you sure had me thinking! Please let us know how they turn out and some pics?
Maree, I love that picture too, love Waterhouse as an artist and most of the Pre-Raphelites, painters and poets. Haven't got the print but have a few books. Who would have thought eh?
Rosemeadow I hope you are able to find some of the roses you lost in the move and find some real bargains in August.

Re: Roses on the way !!!
Silky , the first print i had of the Lady was block mounted and i bought it in Bath England and carried it around in my backback while hitchhiking through England as a young person , it eventually peeled off the block after many many years and i bought a new one , wouldn't be without it ...

Re: Roses on the way !!!
Thanks Maree and Rosemeadow. My friend who was coming from Perth has changed his plans. Now he is visiting China and Malaysia before coming to Maldives.
I am trying to find someone coming June / July to Maldives.

Alee I hope you finally manage to get your roses. It must be frustrating for you, but rose lovers are tough and persistent, like their roses.

Re: Roses on the way !!!
Silky, will let you know how Ingrid goes. Had a interesting talk with a Rosarian regarding potting. If you must pot a rose he recommends as far as drainage goes that you can use broken up styrofoam (spelling?)
in the bottom of the pot to help stop soil from compacting. Anyone tried this?

Re: Roses on the way !!!
Thats interesting Jordon - Not meaning to Thread jack, but for ones I've had in pots since last year, I would like to do the same with them, putting something at the bottom of the pots. Would this be ok around pruning time to bring them out and repot?

Re: Roses on the way !!!
you can try using flyscreen or shade cloth on the bottom or if you had left over bean bag fillings....

Re: Roses on the way !!!
the quickest way , is too line the pot to the top with shade cloth. When you want to empty, grab the shade cloth on the side and lift the whole lot out in one hit.....using the shade cloth stops the suction cause by the soil and water to the side of the pot
