End of Season
Hi All,
So pruning for me is almost over for another winter and it came to me that some roses are much thornier or what I like to call "friendlier" than others. And despite all the protective gear they still inflict themselves on my hands and arms. My most friendliest roses would have to be Imperatrice Farah and Falling in Love. The complete opposite can be said for PJPII, Heaven Scent and The Childrens Rose with little or no thorns.
So what would be your thorniest roses?
Cheers and Enjoy your Sunday,
Louise.

Alexander and Ian Thorpe without a doubt. Oranges and Lemons is pretty spikey too.

Albertine is a killer so is Rosa laevigata (Cherokee Rose).
We pruned them last week:

Made a bit of a mess of us but we have recovered, Unfortunately the experience has left us not looking anywhere near as sexy as we were before we started.
