Season's changing alrteady!!!
Wandering around the weeds here I noticed Autumn is already starting to appear!!! Some of the rugosa are already starting to colour up ready for their autumn show... $5 says it's going to be a really cold winter this year

Hasn't started in Sydney, still around 30C and very sticky despite everything looks dry. We need rain really bad.

Re: Season's changing alrteady!!!
We have been traveling back and forward to Dubbo(west of us) over the last month or so, we have seen the paddocks changing colour each trip, Carole said to me on one of the trips had the farmer sprayed the paddock with R/up and I just said it was all haying off. The grasses are waist high and no one would want a fire anywhere as it would run very quick.
At work we have dug some holes to shovel depth, dry as bone. What was a very high water table with all the rain has now gone down very deep, all along the valley people are watering, the wells are not dropping, one of our wells on a large aquavore line is still 2 metres to high to lower the pump and moter back in.
As the watertable is deep and we don't get rain would it not make a mild winter

We turned the heater on the other night, it was so cold. Autumn is definitely trying to push out summer early, at least in Tas. Its actually nice, cool nights and warm days, I love autumn. Sorry about the fragmented thoughts, just got up hehe

Re: Season's changing alrteady!!!
Maybe David... our nights are getting down to 5 degrees already and the rugosa leaves are starting to go plum-coloured and orange. The chickens have gone into a moult already, to get their new feathers before winter, and I've noticed the cats' and dogs' coats are starting to thicken up already. It's been pretty dry here since the floods though you still end up woth a wet knee if you kneel down on the ground though we had lots of rain and wind last weekend. I'm madly trying to get enough wood cut for the winter. Our paddocks are haying off as well (but the weeds are still growing full-steam ahead). The rugosa are the only plants that seem to be doing it so far. Judging by the winter the U.S is having I'm thinking it's going to a cold one for us this year.
