probably the hybrid tea class....if that doesn't work, then probably enter it in the "Dark Side" Class....

Probably need to have special lights in the place so everything looks black and white.

When I was kid I saw this black rose alongside the river Euphrates. The older flowers looked very very dark blood red like imagine a large pool of blood just beginning to become solid and to dry - so dark red from little further away I saw the black colour and not thr red. But the buds I saw were black colour. The rose is called "Halfeti Rose" and it only grows in the village of Halfeti in Turkey. The thing with this rose is that it only grows in black colour - so intense dark red you see it as black - only and only if it is growing by the river Euphrates due to the particular soil and micro climate. If you grow this rose little bit further away from this particular place it grows very dark red blood red turning towards magenta as they get old. People tried to grow this rose on the outskirts of Halfeti the side away from the river and they were unsuccessfull. All they got was red/magenta coloured rose.
So you can try to grow this rose and when you get it flowering as a black rose please do let us know how you did it. I am willing to pay you for your information!!!

Re: Black Rose
yesterday afternoon I took the picture of Deep Secret. The bud looks very dark red black with the tips of the petals almost black and it is getting the direct full sun. The ones who tucked themselves under the leaves are almost black that made me go and check what was going on there. I need to master taking pictures of things in shade and in arker colours.

and compare with the the colour of the stinking smelly Dragon Lily:

I shall dig out the pictures of my black night lily. So far I have not seen any other flower that near to black apart from the Halfeti Rose.
Can you add to the list?
