So I was at The B shop again today and there was Renae on the chuck-out table. Then it was in my trolley, and then it was in the boot of my car! Sneaky rose.

Anyway, what should I do with it? Is it more of a fence climber, pillar rose, something to grow up the side of the house, or over the car port, or what?

I am thinking over the carport because it has no thorns. This area gets hot afternoon sun though.

It actually looks quite bushy in a lot of the pics on HMF. I see a lot of people grow it as a weeping standard. I'm just going to put in near the carport and hope it stands up to the west sun.

Yes, it looks very grand indeed as an arching bush I just love it when it goes up and over an arch, though. In any and all cases, a fabulous find.

I don't know how it goes in scorching Oz sun, because I've only ever seen it in all its mature glory in the northern hemisphere, and the Pacific Northwest at that, where sun is not a daily occurence, but a seasonal phenomenon :-)))). Is it grown at Werribee?

A couple of my neighbours grow it of arches, but they're all in dappled shade.
