One of my all time favourite roses as I believe this particular rose sets the benchmark for fragrance in a hybrid tea rose and I would go as far to say its colour for me is best red of the red roses I am familiar with. The only drawback is for a classic hybrid tea the petals are loose and the rose doesn't often develop the necessary needle point centre if at all to be a good exhibition rose.

HT, dr, 1963, Meilland, Alain A.; bud pointed; flowers dark velvety crimson, large, 35 petals, high-centered, borne mostly singly , intense fragrance; recurrent; foliage leathery, glossy, olive-green; vigorous, upright growth
[Chrysler Imperial × Charles Mallerin]

Oklahoma and Mr Lincoln are the same cross as Papa Meilland however they were both bred in the USA whereas Papa Meilland was bred in France.
