I really admired this in the Benalla Gardens. Took some cuttings at pruning time and it looks like 'Firestar' is one that has done the best.

What a Beautiful Rose (Firestar), I love the colour, You really do take lovely pics Jordan. May I ask, (how many times a week do you need to water your Roses in pots and are they all in plastic pots), as your plants always look so clean & healthy.
I will have to put Firestar on my Wishlist.

I can honestly say that it shows how much you do love your roses. You are a credit to the Rose Growing Fraternity. A lot of people would love to grow Roses the quality of yours in the ground.

Dan is good bloke, you don't have to make his head swell any more. He is the sort of employee I would have if I owned a rose nursery.

Re: first rose this season
Lovely roses, lovely colour Jordan. You seem to have a head start in the flowering department. What's your secret?
It's a race here (Melbourne) to see which one will win the race to be first. Daybreaker (had the very last bloom in autumn) or Duet (which has now gone gangbusters after a dismal sulk last season) or maybe sweet little Jessika, planted bareroot July. Can't wait.
Love to see other race winners from forumites.

My climbing Gold Bunny has just bloomed!! It's on a North facing wall, think this has made a difference! Pinkie is also blooming - just one flower at the moment, but not bad considering I only planted it, bare rooted, this last July.

Re: first rose this season
Good luck in the battle with the possums Jordan. You've got you work cut out I think. Have you thought about fake owls? Being their natural predators, I know when there is an owl about here, there is not a possum to be seen. I saw some in Bunnings recently. Owls not possums hahah).Dunno if it would work, just a thought though.

Most have seen my Banksia, for those that have not here it is just starting, we have no others out yet, not even David Austin's first rose, "Constance Spry"

Re: first rose this season
Oh my goodness David, what a specimen, it is wonderful. How old is it and is it covering a tree or some kind of structure. Whatever it is covering it must be strong. Do you prune if so how often & how much do you prune off. Do you feed it & with what & how often. Must love the position.
Cheers..
