Re: Percipitation
I've been looking at real-estate, and weather, in Robertson all week during those long hot days. Now there's a place it really knows how to rain! Unfortunately I haven't been able to convince Trevor, who hates the cold, so I think we'll be in Parkes for a few years yet. But it's fun to dream!
And, yes, it was lovely rain!

Re: Percipitation
We had some really good rain overnight and some this morning. The garden looks a lot fresher and all my roses are looking happy. So many buds ready to pop.

Are going to grow potatoes Debbie, as that is what Robertson was/is famous for ?

Re: Percipitation
You bet! I'm a potato farmer's daughter - I remember 'helping' to wash spuds by jumping up and down on them in a big old bathtub of water, while Dad bagged them. I think I was about 5.

The best thing was we had 40mm on Tuesday, it stopped while I played golf on Wednesday and then started again two minutes after we got to the bar at the golf club.

Re: Percipitation
Yeah, David. Let's just say the shorn sheep are glaring at me right now.
Eased off to drizzle now.
Nice to know what could be a week away, John.... I usually prefer it in 5-10mm bursts rather than 50mm ones!

38.5mm so far today. And just now it has decided to BUCKET DOWN. Complete with the odd flash of lightening.

Re: Percipitation
We have had the hottest May on record, with 20 consecutive days over 20 degrees (that's really hot for Melbourne in May, Neptune, before you start laughing hysterically). Getting some nice rain the last couple of days though. Which is nice, but is putting a bit of a dampener on my gardening plans (pun intended).

Re: Percipitation
I just heard it has been the hottest May in Sydney since records have been kept. We have had 19 days in a row over 22 degrees.

Re: Percipitation
so i can just see it, roses tootling along in this warm weather without a care in the world..., "aha they say" .. "think I might send out some new leaves and a couple of sumptious buds for the old gal that tends this garden"... then, bang, with no warning, minus 5 overnight and all that energy invested by the rose will make for a feeble spring..
