Re: MORE ROSES
Roseman , i'm just waiting for my husband to get a weekend off work , then w'ere off to Magic , cause he is the driver , cause i always get lost , and cause he is a truck driver who drives all over Victoria and never gets lost . Just looking at the their website , they have some different roses to Swanes and Treloars , which is good . Betsy/Silkie , i bought a half opened bud in of Blackberry Nip inside, there's a slight fragrance , not strong , maybe it will get better as it unfolds... I think here is a good case for trialling a rose in a pot before planting , because if i don't find it fragrant , then i won't plant it , B.N is in the ground though , give it another year ....

Re: MORE ROSES
maree, Magic Gardens lists BN in its inventory. When you finally go to Magic Gardens (IhateyouIhateyouIhateyou), sample a BN if you can find a bush in bloom. MG bareroots are older than Treloars by a year, I think, and there porbably are even more mature bushes on site. BN is NOT short of perfume, nice and sweet and no lemon peel that I can detect, so don't toss yours just yet.
Also, with your own BN: let a flower unfurl completely before you pick it next time. See if that makes a difference when it comes indoors.
Just as well I don't live near Magic Gardens. I wouldn't be able to control myself. I'd have to knock over the Healesville convenience store to get my fix.

Re: MORE ROSES
Well that's good to know because I think I might be using MG to supply my roses this year. Will know more when I get out there for a look, haven't been before. Seem to have a good range though.

Re: MORE ROSES
If it was me, ladies I would refrain from mentioning any sort of supplier or implying a supplier here as we are bound to co-operate with any possible litigation. So what I have done is deleted a couple of posts so we/us are not up for any litigation.

Re: MORE ROSES
Maree or any member, if anyone here has problems with roses I suggest you take it up with the supplier, by all means send details to me so we have a record, BUT, if it was me I would contact the relevant people within the company. If anyone here is unsure of the person/persons to contact, email direct and I will supply details where possible.
