Brown cockroaches in the soil?
Every time I hand water my roses I find a brown sort of cockroach emerge from his shower I have just given him. I wonder what he has been having to eat - possibly the roots of my roses?

Maybe it's just processing the mulch and other organic matter? Don't most cockroaches "recycle" detritus?

Re: Brown cockroaches in the soil?
Yes he/she does look like this but not as reddish in colour. My second picture indoors is nearest to the true colour. They are always about three quarters of an inch long. Sorry I have not given a metric measurement.

I forgot to say, they scurry but not not seem to fly like cockroaches do and no, they do not have feelers.
