Re: Our garden is BLOOMING!!! :)
Oh, Rose Anne, you’ve got a beautify Charles Darwin, and your picture helped me to say for sure my mystery rose is not one: the leaves are completely different.
How do you find the fragrance? Now that I don’t have one after all, I should probably make an effort to correct that.

Re: Our garden is BLOOMING!!! :)
Dave it was pruned down to 3ft after flowering last year, it has good vigour hey. More yellow!!!!!!! that is pure Pernetiana colours, you cross that with yellows and get wonderful things.

Re: Our garden is BLOOMING!!! :)
You know, I actually had to go outside and cut a rose to get to the fragrance *lol* It's beautiful, sweet and soft, just like the rose.... probably wouldn't fit Mr Darwin tho

We had shocking winds here the other day so the bloom quality is down a bit.

Your lucky Warren, I will post my only flowers at present later, my 'Banksia' has just started to flower. Even 'Constance Spy' hasn't put out a bloom yet.

Re: Our garden is BLOOMING!!! :)
Rose-Anna , i see you have Violina and Henri Matisse , two of my favourites , mine are still in bud , how does your Jardins go for BS and fragrance , is it better than Pope John Paul , if you have one , do you think ....

Re: Our garden is BLOOMING!!! :)
I think the JdB is similar when it comes to BS, Pope John Paul got better fragrance but JdB got way stronger stems and I can easily go out and pick a nice bouquet of JdB's that will decorate our home for a week or so.... Pope Paul has a lot weaker stems... but then again, I dont see JdBas a really white rose but more of a light rosey colour since its not really pure white.
Love them both tho

Rose Anna I'm really drawn to your Henri Matisse although I'm not usually a great fan of stripey roses. How would you describe its fragrance?

Re: Our garden is BLOOMING!!! :)
Thanks for the fragrance update on Charles Darwin (and JdB), Rose-Anna. So CD’s beautiful soft colour is matched by an equal fragrance, great package. Ah, we don’t know if that fragrance didn’t fit Mr. Darwin; I hear he was a gentleman.

Re: Our garden is BLOOMING!!! :)
This is one of my favourite roses in the plot at home, those of WA, it was named after the area where the Overlander roadhouse is on the way to Monkey Mia.
