Is the colouring of Atomik a bit like Fragrant Cloud’s? Most unusual, I like it.

Maree I use a lot of early HT's Tea's , China's and some HP"S. I have recently used some species to increase health into them as well . Have bred some Ht's , floribunda's, but most fall into the category of shrub type roses. Dave have been a bit crook but hopefully its going to be fixed up soon, have a few hundred new seedlings look after. Now for the C

My Lifes Work Empty Re: My Lifes Work

Ozroz, I really like the colours of FC, a very unique orange that’s nowhere near as bright as some references claim, at least not in my garden. Here it looks like Atomik and the folded petals shine differently; I haven’t seen anything like it before in a rose.

I like the second, silky single in your Bs, but the print is a bit small for me. There are just so many beautiful ones, and I haven’t even started to look closely at the Cs. Do you have an online gallery like Garry where we can take the time that your roses deserve or that we can bookmark for inspiration?

This is just an extraordinary collection and body of work- and we're only at the top of the alphabet!

Too many beauties to single out a favourite, but from the pix alone I am partial to all the cerise doubles. . Which are your most fragrant creations, Ozrose? Do you have any ultra-special ones that you would call your "signature" roses?

Jac Atomik is very bright Orange Red and its foliage is quite dark adding more contrast.

Thanks Betsy, if you like colour wait untill you see the new ones comming through , have spent the last 2 yrs concentrating on colour alone. Betsy about 80% of what i breed has med to intense perfume.

What fantastic roses! And so many beautiful ones, I want to dip my face and smell them! These are a credit to you Ozroz, you must be very proud of such an achievement, and rightly so. I would buy them if I saw them in a nursery, especially as they are shrub type roses. I especially love Bighearted and Atomic, just beautiful. Thank you for allowing us the pleasure of seeing "Your life's Work". Ever thought of writing a book about your work?

Post by Guest 20th August 2012, 15:17

Thanks Bruce, all my research for breeding starts about one year before hand and by spring I have a headache from going over breeding lines. Its a good headache though when you see the new ones develope into something nice. Aout selling them , I really need the support of a large grower which they tend to be more interested in promoting those roses bred overseas, sad but the truth.

Thanks Silkyfizz, the perfumes you would like, Damask, Fruity, Myrrh, Dianthus/Carnation, Clove, Tea and that of Hélène De Troie (woody, vanilla and spicy). I have thought of compiling something down on paper.

In the fragrance list, Ozrose, are you referring to the fragrance types among your hybrids?????? As in Helene of Troie, but also others?

Putting my hand up as a prospective buyer should you decide on 'limited edition' sales of your roses./ My god, what a parade of unending splendours!

I'm gobsmacked, really I am. Not being polite or chummy-encouraging. These roses sing a siren song. To be honest, just on first take, I like these roses a helluva lot more than the Alistair Clarks. (excuse spelling).

These creations have personality that radiates off the page. The fragrance range you have achieved just nails it
