I purchased this rose from Thomas for Roses as a potential breeder because it is reputed to be incredibly vigorous.

This is the link to it on HMF: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] .

The references state: "The Complete Book Of Roses Book  (1994)  Page(s) 113.  

Uncle Walter Description... A bright crimson red that was first introduced as a Hybrid Tea but its vigour was an embarrassment and it is now generally accepted as a shrub rose...

How embarrassing  Embarassed Vigorous here it has not been. I will be budding this one onto multiflora to see if I can coax some of that embarrassing vigour out it before I use it in breeding.
