Re: Looking for Yellows
Daniel, if all the others are of same age and 'Buccaneer' is behind, it is possible the roots "might not" be in contact with the soils, this can happen.

The 2 Buccaneers(yellows) arrived this afternoon, in water as we speak, to be planted this weekend.

Re: Looking for Yellows
David, how did the Buccaneer's work out?
My daughter wanted a yellow rose named after her so I picked two of the best here. Seed was 'Julia Child' and pollen 'Midas Touch'. It turned out a very deep yellow, quite fragrant Floribunda, reasonably healthy here. It's similar to 'Julia Child' but a deeper yellow. Possibly one of the best roses I have bred to date.
Also bred an interesting yellow minni come minni Flora from 'Julia Child' seed and Baby Love pollen The blooms are very much 'Baby Love' with 5 petals.
There are a lot of yellows out there listed as available.

Bruce, Buccaneer is a work in progress. It has been placed over it's self. The combination of JC X MT should create something gourgous in my mind

Re: Looking for Yellows
It's difficult to tick all the boxes when looking for yellows.
I have had a lot here over the years but health seems to be a problem. Normally I would not have chosen to breed yellows by never having denied my daughter much in life it had to be yellow. Every time I visit her she always has a bunch of high centered, exhibition style yellows somewhere in a large vase. I have yet to see any yellows as deeply coloured as 'Natalie Treloar'.
It has great fragrance and is proving to be as healthy as it's pollen parent 'Midas Touch'. I never spray and so far so good re health. For those interested in pollination it's one of seven seedlings with great variation in them all.
There was one about the colour of 'St Patrick' but looked very much like 'Midas Touch'. All were discarded except the deep yellow keeper NT.
I have given away a lot of seedlings hoping my name was not associated with them as they were first crosses made to produce some very healthy foundation stock.
The two I'm going to concentrate on this season are
'New Yorker' and 'Rise-n-Shine'.

Re: Looking for Yellows
'Julia Child' , the seed parent, produced a reasonable amount of hips.
David do you want some budwood from 'Natalie Treloar'?
It's a deep yellow Floribunda, very bushy, fragrant, blooms fade a little as they age.
I have it growing in a pot but it should make a very good garden rose.
