New Australian Bred Roses for Release in 2012

I was speaking to Andrew Ross of Ross Roses yesterday and he told me this year he is releasing three new Dr Bruce Chapman bred roses these being Joyce Abounding, Mornington and Dame Nellie Melba. I have judged all these three on the show bench and they are all roses worth making space for in the garden. A backyard amateur breeder from Melbourne in all Bruce has bred and registered 13 roses to date. My two favourites are Flemington Race Course which was the grand Champion Rose of the 2010 Sydney RRS Show and Joyce Abounding which was the Grand Champion at the 2010 Sydney Royal Easter Show. Bruce told me recently his favourite rose of the roses he has bred is the white Amazing Grace.

Joyce is named after his wife, a lovely couple I have met on a few occasions and he also helped me stage my first roses in the novice section a few years back.
