I see you have hair around your roses. Do you find it improves the flower of the health of the plant. I have been told hair is great for them

Sonya, most of the mail order nurseries carry Tess, Mistydowns does as with Treloars, any that carry David Austin roses will have it. Hope this helps

Hi Sonya,
That's not really "hair" around the roses - it's carpet wool. Smile My sheep grow a fair bit of it and I use it on the garden as mulch, since the mills don't really want the lower quality lines (there's a rant topic...)
As to where I got Tess - from Treloars, as mentioned above.
I must admit I was pretty chuffed to see that my Tess was bigger and better than the Tess at the DA nursery in the UK. Cool (small things... hehe)

Hi! It is blowing a gale outside and I enjoyed sitting by the fire and looking at your lovely photos.

My bushes are almost bare and I must gear up ready for pruning!

Your roses reminded me that I lost "Reines de Violettes" and must replace it!

Your roses bring back happy memories of my visits to Golden Vale Nursery. I've still got copies of my (huge) orders from their wonderful catalogue. I think they've closed now, but most of there roses are here Very Happy
