Hey Warren,

I love this new one of yours!!! It's flowers are perfect IMO. How's the plant go? The foliage looks wonderfully healthy and dark from here. Is this one registered yet? Is it going to be released anywhere? What's behind it?

Also, I wanted to say thankyou for rotating the images in your gallery too. I think, given the silly restrictions we have on our gallery size and space, that this is an excellent way to use the gallery. The way the scrolling gallery thumbnails work is tha the most recently uploaded images get included in the fading slide show (top left corner). By rotating your images it means that we always have new photos to look at. Anyone who uploads new photos to their personal [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] will have their images included in the slide show.

Thanks Simon and Ozeboy, This one and Planet Earth are the same cross, both have similar plant characteristics( short and very compact growth, the flower buds stay at this formation for a long time before opening up fully, good for people who like cut flowers).

The cross is (WendyX Smooth Buttercup), SB I use as a pollen parent as it does'nt set hips that easy and is used in my breeding programme to obtain thornless roses which some of the offspring have given me good results.

That little flick on the ends of the petals is a traite from Smooth Buttercup.

The offspring of this cross will be bred with the thornless Vanilla crosses that I have to have a series of thornless roses.

A few years ago, Warren, I visited a cut rose system on the NSW Central Coast. They said the most popular choice, for brides, was this 'antique white'. I think it's probably my favourite too.

Me like too. Smile I could see this rose of yours being a popular bridal flower too Woz . If the buds can hold their shape that well and I just love that ruffled edge ; gives it the look of an old fashioned crinoline .... it would be just magic in a bouquet. [I trained as a florist many many moons ago lol]
People think that roses have to be long stemmed for the cut flower trade , but they don't. Long stems are an absolute waste if the flower heads are only going to be cut off for wire work.
When my mum had her florist shop , one of the most popular white roses for bridal work was a little fat white flowered one called Baby Alberic [spelling ?]

cheers. Rosalie

That is lovely Warren as it is and as Rosalie said in a bridal bouquet - stunning.
I thought of it over a rose arch, with all those flowers how amazing that would look and if it was thornless you would have an absolute winner.
I just wish that I had a fraction of your talent.

Thanx Sonya and Carole, these are almost thornless, this one also came out of the same seed pod but a pale yellow and blooms just as good as Vanilla Skies.

Thanx Carole, I am a bit partial to yellow myself, mind you to get a good one is quite difficult, a lot fade very quickly to pale yellow or pure white. Next spring, one of my aims to breed strong yellow.
