What is this word you call "Rain"?......

I'm with you John, our temps are 38c and upwards, 42c next Monday, our electricty is coping a hounding, this might be the time to go solar water pump I think

Well...in my case...the freezing cold shower you have outside whilst planting the bulbs you supposed to plant last October-November as opposed to the warm and comfy one you have indoors..

Hi folks. Still no rain up here of any consequence.

We have lot a lot of plants (perennials etc) and probably 20 roses. These were mainly ones we planted last winter and have not had a chance to acclimatise though some of our older roses have decided to pull up stumps.

Despite the complete lack of rain, a few weeks ago the surviving roses decided it was no good sitting around and decided to send out new foliage and flowers. Most of the flowers get burnt in the heat but the yellow roses (which usually suffer in the summer rain) have put on quite a nice display. Not as good as normal but still nice.

Our dam is way down and stinks due to the heat and our bore goes dry after 10 minutes of hosing. Hope it rains soon.

seems like towards the end of the week we are getting four days of rain......hmmmm summer time....

Using the old well used saying "and then the rains came" . They sure did. We have had over 500mm over the past three weeks. For once we have stepped out of the rain shadow into the full pouring glory. Our dam is full though the bore is still down a bit and the garden has taken off.

Our first storm finally coming over. We recieved 25mm from this one.

The next day I was at work which is 20km from home and there was a few drops of rain. I got home and we had received 98 mm from a storm that sat over our place. 5km out in every direction had only a few mm.
Subsequent to that we had a couple of more showery days then ex-cyclone Debbie dropped 320mm in a bit over a day and showers again yesterday.

And the garden has loved it. We had to cut a couple of climbers back after Debbie but the rest have simply powered away.

Lee has been busy picking flowers for the house.
