Rare Plant fair.
I just wondered if anyone is going to Hawksbury to the plant fair this weekend.
We will be going down on Friday so we can spend Saturday buying plants.
If anyone else is going we would love to meet up with them.

Re: Rare Plant fair.
I guess no one else is going.
We have a dual cab ute thingy and I asked David how we are going to stop plants falling over if I run out of money before filling the ute.
David's answer : I am sure you will find a bank machine !

Re: Rare Plant fair.
Normally Glynis and I go to the show on Saturday but this year it clashes with day 1 of the Sydney Royal Easter Show rose show which we will be competing in.

That is a shame that we can't meet up but may be next year.
Good luck at the Easter Show we know you will do well.

Re: Rare Plant fair.
Hi Carol
Thank you for your best wishes unfortunately our rose this year are well below par and I don't see too many championship ribbons coming our way but we live in hope. Win, lose or draw the show is a great day out so one wins anyway by the mere fact of being there. Glynis and I are disappointed we won't have the opportunity of meeting you and David at the fair however as you said there is always next year.

Oops. I've come to the board after your departure. I suppose I'd like to know what you think of the plant. Question I have is : is it weather- tough ( I've had China Blue salivia dies on me after prolonged rain)?

Re: Rare Plant fair.
Betsy, I missed the above post, I saw the plant in 100ml pots, small plants, very prostrate,, open potting mix, free draining. They had some 'exhibition' stems, nice colour, around 200/300ml stem. I would say once established it would be a nice plant.

Re: Rare Plant fair.
The AQ and I went over to the plant fair this morning and I spoke to the owner of green e roses Klas. I saw some Mistydownes roses but didn't see Noel he must have been having a break. There wasn't a great deal of action at the rose stalls however I believe it was different yesterday.
Our trip to Sydney Royal Easter Show wasn't as unproductive as I had anticipated as we came away with the champion ribbon for the bud to full bloom class and it missed out becoming the Grand Champion by a whisker to a vase of floribundas representing the up to 25 class.

Re: Rare Plant fair.
Nice pick up considering you thought the roses were not upto scratch Doug. I guess all the credit should go to the AQ.
