Yellow leaves in QLD
I have figured out what causes yellow and/or loss of leaves in QLD. The extreme heat and lack of water. I always assumed it was that, but now I have proof in my pots .....

Re: Yellow leaves in QLD
well to be honest its not that often that we get 40 and over in melbourne , but if we do i water twice daily .. but if we get temp 25 to 35 i would normaly water early in the morning .. as for mulch it does help.. im going to re mulch all my pots this year again , getting ready for the hot weather .. so ur pots arent in full sun ? was it windy ? i guess the dry heat with heat up the soil regardless

Re: Yellow leaves in QLD
It was probably windy too. But we weren't here to know .. lol.
They were the last things I was thinking about when we left .. Unfortunately for me! But now there are no aphids or caterpillars haha.
Yes the dry heat here is ridiculous. At one point we didn't leave our unit because it was like breathing in a sauna.

Re: Yellow leaves in QLD
Some of them are 30 x 35 and they are light coloured plastic. Some are much bigger than that but I can't be sure of the exact size. They are only for my bare rooted ones this year, they will go in the garden next Winter

Re: Yellow leaves in QLD
AHHHH that is crazy! I get my pots from some of the cheapie shops. I paid $12 the other day for one of the biggest plastic pots I have ever seen.
I know they need to be watered every day in this heat, but I was too busy organising our stairs to be done, work and the dogs and completely forgot. Failed at that didn't I?!

Re: Yellow leaves in QLD
I have found Ti Tree works a treat here in Brisbane. The president of the Roselover club uses it and swears by it.

Hi Brett, nor sure what ti tree is? My issue was just the potted roses in the heat because we were away. This is a carry on from another thread a out yellow leaves.
