Best yellow HT ?
Just picking brains here...
We want to plant 1-3 roses in honour of a dear friend who just passed away. He loved yellow HTs and given I don't have very many yellows I'm just wondering which ones would be considered to be "best" in terms of form, fragrance and all-round health.
Suggestions?

Holterman's Gold is a proven performer and continous bloomer. Gold Bunny is another one as well .

Warren,
I looked up the Dr. A.J.Verhage as it is one I dont know and it is a SMASHER it is now on my ever lengthening wish list. I see there is also a climber of it.
I am sure Wendy will love it.

Re: Best yellow HT ?
Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
(I've found that Magic Garden Roses is selling Dr A.J. Verhage too: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] )
Maybe one day I'll fluke producing a yellow rose we can name after our friend. (I'm sure Warren would be waaaay better than me in that department though!)

Jordan, your post at 18.44 I did answer but it went into cyberspace or I didn't press send.
You said that Ozroz should do courses and YES thast would be fantastic. He has more knowledge on roses than all the rest of us put together.
However if you are being sarcastic and we all know that sarcasim is the lowest form of wit it has NO place on this forum.

Re: Best yellow HT ?
Another yellow which is good and has a very good perfume is Sutters Gold, the only thing I would say , wish it had a few more petals. I got this one in last winter as a climbing version, flowering and health were extremely good.

Re: Best yellow HT ?
*nod* I've been inclined to forget about 'Sutters Gold' because it tends to have pink highlights here and not be a strong clear gold-yellow. We have one bush here that is (I think) over 50years old (and has RMV).
I'll add it to the list. Thanks.

Re: Best yellow HT ?
huh
Turns out the list isn't for my Mum - it's for the daughter of our friend. Which means the roses have to be suitable for Melbourne and (maybe?) a beginner!
(But then again.... I don't mind adding to My List... )
