Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
Valencia, hands down. You can see some of mine in my avatar photo. There is no rose whose first majestic Spring bloom thrills me more, those Juno-esque petals, and that honeysuckle/jasmine/rose perfume - how does silky put it when she speaks of scent? - you can happily drown in it.
Val shuts down in the heat, but then, so do I.

Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
Good Post Happy Roses, I have a few Yellows.
Jordan, You have chosen some of my most favourites. My Graham Thomas is growing over an Obelisk covered in buds, it will be a picture in a few days. Here are another 4 that I have growing and they are all looking lovely at the moment. I have a couple of the David Austin's you have as well.

Yes I love Elina too, more cream than yellow though. Elegant and mysterious. So healthy.

Also very healthy and never stops blooming, Victoria Gold.

Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
Not take away the theme of this thread, BUT Elina, used to be deeper cream , leading to a very soft yellow with the lightest petal edge fringed in a pink shade.. It is the same as 'Peace', they both have been propagated to far from the original plant material, this is IMO.

Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
Gold Bunny.
I've never really been "into" the yellows since they're traditionally more likely to be unhealthy but I'm converting gradually.
I acquired a Victoria Gold this year as a little whippersnapper so I'm going to see how that goes...

Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
Autumn, I have Vic Gold and Gold Bunny growing side by side and they look good together. I've never been a great fan of bright yellow roses but I wanted these to contrast with the jacaranda and large agapanthus. They always look cheerful and are cooled by lots of white things Elina and mauve roses.

Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
My Elina to me is a soft yellow, I was told that Peace is not as good as it used to be. It was the first rose I ever bought and it didn't last very long.

For me it has to be "Holterman's Gold", strong vigorous and emmense blooms with a stunning fragrance.
Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?

St Patrick, Gold Medal, Glorious and *Victoria Gold (Welsh) are yellow roses that have done well on the show bench in recent years.

Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
Happy roses, I agree with you - my Elina is also pale yellow!! Are you and I or "The Rest" colour blind?! LOL!
I have a beautiful Climbing Peace rose, which is now in it's 3rd year and looking very healthy with many buds on it too. I'm afraid it gets a little neglected at times! Must remember to go out and feed it when the winds we are having at the moment, die down!

Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
A yellow rose I have seen in the catalogues is Gina Lollobrigida. If it is as good as its namesake it should be a beauty.

Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
Thank you David. From what I saw on Help Me Find the rose is a great colour. It was interesting to note from the information in HMF Gina was born in 1927 thus making her 86 years old. It is had to imagine the vivacious sex symbol I watched on the silver screen during the 50s and 60s as a teenager being 86 years old.

Re: Last but not least, your favorite yellow?
Danny, Victoria Gold is a good garden rose. Very healthy and robust, lots of flowers, good repeat. Foliage fresh green, average height. Flowers have nice form but no fragrance which is a major drawback for me. I like the red edge the flowers get when unfurling. You can see this in the photo I posted page 1.
