Yes I know what you mean Maree. I love the birds coming into the garden. Tomorrow's job is rigging up a fence around a treefern that has nesting blackbirds. My Jack Russell id determined to pull that nest down. He finally succeeded last year and got the babies, you'd think the parents would learn!
Very excited to welcome a pair of pardalottes back after several years, they are the most wonderful little birds, hope they stay!

JRs certainly are determined! Our mini took nearly 12mths to realise the rabbits would always be there tomorrow - he now comes home precisely at dinner time.

[img] ........ put your image properties between these two brackets.......no spaces after the first braket or before the last one....OR if they are uploaded to photobucket or other media, they usally have the code ready and you only have to click and copy, then paste it in your post

Glynis says to say hi John. Are you and Anna going to the NRSA AGM and National Championships to be held in Melbourne on 9th to 12th November?

For those interested in yellow roses an Aussie I would recommend is Victoria Gold bred by the late NSW rosarian Eric Welsh. This floribunda rose was released in 1999 to commemorate the centenary of the Victorian Rose Society . It has been carried by Treloars for many years.

Thanks Neptune. I did use Photobucket and copied from there but obviously mucked it up somehow. I'll try again but you might have to bear with me.

Ah Ausrose, you have solved a puzzle about one of my yellows which I couldn't remember the name of. Healthy and lovely flowers, always seems to have blooms on it.

Maree, he is a wire-haired Jack Russell. Yes he's cute as a button but can be a terror.

In a vet-run Puppy Class we attended years ago, there was a brother-brother pair of 12 week-old Jack Russells. They were holy terrors, the juvenile deliquents of the group, tiny snarly perpetual motion machines. They picked fights with all the other (much bigger) puppies, and when they had demolished their classmates, they beat up each other ROTFL. Gorgeous

Betsy, that sounds exactly right. They take on anything, no matter the size and protect their territory against the audacity of cats, possums, rats, and any strange or birds (crows, hawks, owls, magpies, parrots). Just hope he never holes up a snake though, from the creek nearby. He is a very loyal companion though and a good mate to my english bull terrier.

Maree, he would if you have any B&B around. Handy if you want any excavations done! lol!

So you really are getting rid of PM? Are you going to replace it with another red? I was thinking of maybe creating a new area next year of reds and have thought of including PM. Hmmm. May need to rethink that though in light of your feedback.

I have to admit reading this that I LOVE my PM flowers. Most beautiful red for me. ALTHOUGH .. It is very slow growing and I think I have only had about 5 flowers in a year lol .. Is this why you are taking it out?

For me Papa Meiland is the benchmark rose for perfume however I have found it to be an ordinary grower, sparse on flowers and the petals are too loose for an exhibition class rose. If you are looking for a red rose that grows well and has abundant flowers you could try Firefighter. Although the bushes take a while to take off my four year old plants are magnificent. As an exhibition rose Firefighter performs well in the bunch class however its petals are a little loose for the exhibition class. On results the best red exhibition class rose is Kardinal.

My PM is up there with scent like Mr Lincoln. I have Firefighter Smile Not as much scent as my PM though. Have you tried another one? I did buy Kardinal once, and it turned out to be labelled incorrectly and now I have a beautiful white rose haha !
