Re: Not 'White Wings'
Yep definately not White Wings. The flower sort of looks like a white "Vestys Yellow Tea"

Re: Not 'White Wings'
Gary, is not to 'lax' for "pax" , where 'Pax' is grown in town, it appears to be more upright and also makes the best hedge where it is grown

Re: Not 'White Wings'
My 'Pax' is arching formnig large white loose flowers with dark green fliage on darm reddy/brown stems... well armed.
Re: Not 'White Wings'
They do sell 'Pax'. So far I'm not convinced it has the arching canes but it is only small. If it is 'Pax' then I will have to shift it as it would be way too big for the position I have it in.
Interestingly, I bought that the same year (same nursery) as my "Not Wedding Day"..... (I had a quite a few that year from more than one nursery).
Thank you for the thoughts so far. Will try to get some better thorn/foliage shots.

Wendy, I have been looking around and Gary 'could' be right about your rose. If you can 'where' did it come from.

Re: Not 'White Wings'
The bloom and bud didn't appear to have any yellow in them. Dunno if I should name the nursery publicly..

Re: Not 'White Wings'
Clint Eastwood was in it wasn't he?
Our "Vesty Yellow" came form the same place. It is very pale yellow when grown in full sun.
Bit hard to see from the photo. Does it have lots of long thorns?

Sure looks like Pax. The thorns are different to "Vestry's Yellow"

Re: Not 'White Wings'
FWIW... I thought 'Pax' was a grower too... mine has turned out to be very slow growing and I think it will take a very long time to build up to a point where it will fill the spot I put it. Mine is two years old now and maybe it is like they say.. the first year they sleep, the second year they creep, and the third year they leap... will give it till the end of next year before I decide whether I'm going to move it on or not. My original plant was grafted and died on me. Before it passed I struck cuttings and my current plant is an own root version of it. Good grower on its own roots but slow and it spots quite badly here.
Re: Not 'White Wings'
I might be pushing the limits if I want it to not get much more than 90cm high though....?

I don't think the bloom is double enough for Devoniensis.
