They say Purple and White is for royalty, well I don't know about that, however my Pope John Paul sitting with Ebb Tide look special.
As some have been with me on my rose journey and the problems I've faced, I'm stoked with the way these 2 roses are going. Both now are vigorous and healthy looking producing huge blooms compared to what they have given in the past.

Great pics Paul.How good is the perfume of Pope John Paul !!!.It's such a healthy rose and great performer.Mine is still blooming to.

Having these two roses in combination brings together two of the giants of modern day hybridisers ie Tom Carruth ( Ebb Tide) and Keith Zary (Pope John Paul ll).

I have found the three Pope John Paul ll roses I have to be not as vigorous as l would like.

Beautiful Paulh.
I have not been very impressed with Ebb Tide but after that photo I am going to hang in there. Mine is only a scraggly baby. How old is yours. I am also going to add PJP to my order today.

Thanks Zephy, my Ebb Tide is about 4 years old, one thing I wont do again is prune it too hard. Last time I did that it took over 12 months to get back to where it was.

Thanks Ausrose, I had my PJP in a pot for a couple of seasons with limited success, I put it in the ground about 4 months ago, now it's not the same bush. It has taken off and producing great nice size fragrant blooms.

Like Zephy, I haven't thought much about my Ebb Tide. Small, scraggly and its blooms seem to me to look dusty rather than rich purple, like those in Paul's photo. This is only it's first season so I live in hope.
