about to start breeding again
the safrano is in full bloom and is about to be pollinated with grace darling and rosa laevigata, i have just realised that the tea rose baronne henriette de snoy is a triploid after looking at its breeding, i am now wondering , maybe the reason why it has no offspring to its name mmmm,

Re: about to start breeding again
I've just got my first 'Safrano' seedlings up from last season... not sure what they are though as slugs ate most labels Could be anything from 'Scabrosa' to 'Wild Rover' to 'Abraham Darby'
Re: about to start breeding again
the beauty with safrano is it very healthy, grows and flowers non stop, but its greatest ability is , when crossed with big doubles it adds petals quite easily, have seedlings growiing now , crossed with modern flora and ht

It's a pollen 'machine' too... it's pollen has worked on lots of things... I'm hoping it will play a part in developing mini Teas.
