Rosalie, as always when you show "your" rose off I love it, at this stage does it set any hips.

Re: Rose image gallery
Abbi that is The Little Girl's Rose and she is named for my 3 little angel babies .
Yes RM it does set hips freely[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] they will fatten and colour up a bit as they ripen.
I guess my next challenge will be to plant some seed and see how easily it germinates [or not ]
Heaven only knows how or what they have been pollinated by ; one of the first things those blasted beetles eat when the flower starts to open are all the stamens.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] It could be a real Heinz57 mixed bag.
cheers. Rosalie

Re: Rose image gallery
Rosalie in the picture of the stamens, are they the little bugs on the petals or not.
If you have posted the pictures of the bugs I missed it.

No they are probably thrip These beetles are much larger.
Here they are destroying a flower on Ann Harkness[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Their numbers are declining though , thank goodness . Now my bushes will have a chance to put on some new growth without it all being chewed.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Still there are a few flowers to show off.
Reine de Violette . Blame the camera for the colour ![You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Rose image gallery
Can you do me a favour Rosalie? Can you take a few photos of 'Wedding Day's leaves and thorns please (new shoots, new growth, and old growth). If your macro is any good can I also request stipules at he base of each leaf pleeeaasse... It may help me confirm, or otherwise, an ID I'm trying to sort out.
