Rose Hips
I've had a query from someone who wants to know which roses make the best or most hips. Since I deadhead mine I've got no idea! Could someone please help me on this topic? It won't be for breeding, maybe for rose hip syrup.

Re: Rose Hips
Rosa rugosa 'alba' is traditionally used for rose hip jam (and wine ) because it sets lots of large fleshy hips. You need to plant two unrelated rugosa together though because they have self-pollination barriers... so a Rosa rugosa and a Rosa rugosa 'alba' planted together would be ideal.
